Ingredients

Cheesy Garlic Potato Gratin

  • 500 grams of potatoes, skin on roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, peeled
  • 1/4 Cup of thickened cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 1 cup of grated cheese
  • oil spray for moulds

Recipe's preparation

  1. This will fill four moulds approx 9cm across and 5cm high be it china or individual silicon muffin moulds - oil moulds and
    Preheat oven to 180
    If using an airfryer no need just pop them in for 25 mins 180 deg -- but check at the 20 min mark

    Place potato in the bowl and chop 2 seconds speed 6 - scrape into the basket and press as much liquid out as you can with your spatula
    Place garlic in the bowl and chop 3 seconds speed 4 -- add back the potato to the bowl, now add the cream, salt, pepper, thyme and cheese - mix 4 seconds reverse, speed 3
    Fill your moulds and either place in the oven for 30 mins 180 deg or air fryer 180deg for 20 - 25mins

    You can double this recipe and bake in a cake tin for both oven or air fryer

    The garlic was evident otherwise these didn't have much flavour. We'll try again and see if we can boost the flavour with more cheese and perhaps mustard. However just eaten the leftover gratins and reheated them with a can of chilli tuna spread on top shared between 2 gratins and they were delicisious. Thank you for the recipe.

    This is one of those "I'll just have another" treats. The combination of tasty, spicy cheese with the potato, thyme and garlic keeps me wanting more.
