  • 220 grams dark chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 140 grams Butter
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 190C.  Prepare a 9 inch cake tin.

  2.  

     

    Add butter and chocolate to bowl.  Melt 8 minutes/60 degrees/speed 2.  May need a little longer.

  3.  

     

    Add all remaining ingredients and mix 10 seconds/speed 5.  Scrape sides down with spatula and mix again 5 seconds/speed 5.  

  4.  

     

    Pour batter into cake tin.

  5.  

     

    Bake for 30 minutes.  Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.  Store in fridge until serving.

    Waaah, so sorry to hear!  Yes, maybe a lower temperature - mine tends to be a bit lower than it should be I think.

    The top and bottom burnt! I had to put tin foill over it si or could keep cooking. Absolutely gutted! But I cut off the top and bottom and its all gooey and yummy inside. Will Def make again. Maybe on a lower temp? I also used coconut sugar and cacao.

    Just cooked this with a some subsitutions as my husband is on a very strict Low Fodmaps, no dairy, unrefined sugar diet. Substituted carob for chocolate, cacao powder for coco powder, Nuttelex for butter and rapadura sugar for sugar. Results were fantastic.  Really tasty.  Will definately be cooking again and again.  Thanks.

    A really tasty cake! I omitted the sugar and added 70g of pure maple syrup. It disappeared as soon as it was out of the oven. A keeper!   Cooking 7
