Recipe's preparation

    Apple Twists
  1. Place yeast, butter & milk into TM bowl & heat 3mins / 37 degrees / sp2

Add flour, sugar, salt & spices & combine 5sec / sp6 then knead dough 1.5mins / Closed lid"Closed lid" Dough mode"Dough mode" .  Turn onto Thermomat and work into a ball then wrap in mat & leave to rise 20mins in a warm place.  (If it's a cold day, place wrapped dough on top of a Thermoserver that has an inch of boiling water in the bottom of it).

Once risen, divide dough into 4 equal portions and roll each into a log as long as the width of your thermomat.  Then roll each log flat to a width of about 8cm.

  2. Spoon apple pieces down the centre of each strip and sprinkle with extra cinnamon. Fold in half length-wise then roll into a long sausage to seal the edges.

  3. Twist the sausages in pairs and cover with thermomat or glad wrap & allow to rise for a further 20mins or until doubled in size.

Bake 20-25mins @ 180 degrees or until golden & cooked through.

  4. Coconut Icing

Place sugar into clean & dry TM bowl (if using raw sugar, mill 10sec / sp9 to create icing sugar) then add coconut, butter & vanilla.  Mix sp 4 while slowly adding hot water thru hole in lid to achieve a thin consistency.

Place twists onto wire racks over the baking tray or a plate / board.  Pour icing over the twists while they are still hot from the oven, allowing excess to run off.  Allow to cool slightly then transfer to a plate to serve.

Tip

When placing on a greased or lined baking tray, lightly touch the base of each twist at either end with wet fingertips then press gently into the tray - this will prevent the twists from shrinking & curling while cooking.
