Recipe's preparation

    TM5 Automated Setting
  1. Select Automated recipies on your TM5

    Select yoghurt.

Add all ingredients as per recipe states.

    Start.

Tip

NOTE:

This is exactly the same recipe on the TM5 Automated setting however I have changed the quantities and added Vanilla to create a beautiful thick and creamy vanilla yoghurt.

Its important to use a good quality pot set yoghrt. Farmers Union or Jalna works well.

Make sure your TMX Bowl is clean, you dont want any bad bacteria getting in.

SAVE 200G OF THE YOGHURT YOU MAKE AND USE IT AS THE STARTER FOR YOUR NEXT BATCH.

EVERY TIME YOU MAKE THIS YOGHURT USING YOUR OWN STARTER (from your previous batch) THE THICKER AND CREAMIER IT WILL BE. You can then add LESS milk powder if you wish.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Kylieclair: I've wrapped mine in a blanket and put inside an esky. It's currently below 10degrees celsius over night here.

I have made this quite a few times now. The first few times it was delicious. The last 2 times it has been really thin like milk. Any ideas on what am I doing wrong? Or how I can save my last batch?

I've made this twice now and it's been perfect both times. Toddler loves it too! Thanks for the recipe!

    OMG! what a delicious yoghurt.

How many generations have you gone with the starters before buying another pot set one?

Turned out great! My daughter loves it, has it for breakfast every morning (on her rice bubbles...)
