I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- Place water, oat milk, and yeast in bowl, heat 2 minutes/37 degrees/speed 1.5. Let stand for 10 Minutes.
- Add sugar, salt, nuttlelex, flour 8 minutes/dough
- Grease a large bowl with a lid. Leave to prove for 1 hour or until it doubles in size. I leave mine in my microwave.
- Shape cob, leave it to rise for a further 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 210 degrees.
Add cob, splash a small amount of cold water on the bottom of the oven and quickly shut the door.
Turn oven down to 190 degrees and bake cob for 30 minutes, until it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Tip
I use Seitenbacher dry yeast. It is the only additive-free one I could find. I purchased it from Amazon. A pack of 16 is 32, 10g sachets.
This is my first time making cob loaf. I am using a friend's oven so wasn't game, but have seen many YouTubers throw cold water in the bottom of the oven to make the bread crispy. This would be done when you turn the oven down to 190 degrees.
I am also going to purchase a food-quality spray bottle to spray the cob loaf.
Mine didn't rise well, and this will be because I didn't use bakers flour/bread improver. I was still happy with the result.

Recipe is created for
TM 6
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
