I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Place 200grams of the maltesers in Mixing Bowl and chop for 5 sec/speed 8. Set aside.
Place sugar in Mixing Bowl and mill for 5 sec/speed 9.
Add to Mixing Bowl the eggs, cream, milk, vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract) and the chopped maltesers.
Cook for 6 min/80 degrees/speed 4.
Pour into airtight container that can go in the freezer. I put in two shallow containers to freeze quicker. Leave in freezer for approx 4 hours until frozen but not solid.
When ice cream is at this stage, place the remaining 100 grams of maltesers in the Mixing Bowl and chop 2 sec/speed 5. The maltesers should be slightly chopped but still some chunky for texture.
Add the ice cream mixture to the Mixing Bowl. Mix 20 sec/speed 9 and then 10 sec/speed 4.
Return to freezer (in one container is now fine) and freeze overnight or until frozen.
Enjoy!

This is probably the best ice cream I've made in the Thermomix!
I don't think it's amazing just because I'm a fan of Maltesers, but this really is an absolute winner!!
Apart from halving the sugar, I kept all the rest of the things the same. I put it in to two shallow tupperware boxes to make cutting it up to blend again easier. They took longer to set for me, but that wasn't an issue, and I'll definitely give myself 24h to make this if (when) I do it for people coming over.
The only thing I changed was adding the Maltesers at the end. Before I blended the set mixture, I roughly chopped the remaining Maltesers for 1 second on speed 6 and then put them aside; after softening the mixture for the 20 seconds as per the recipe, I then added the roughly chopped Maltesers and mixed them in for 10 seconds on reverse blade speed 4, and put back in the freezer for a few hours.
It scooped out perfectly and was divine!!! THANK YOU for an amazing recipe!
Not sure what I did wrong but hasn't freezed like normal ice cream. Still delicious, I used Oreos instead of Malteasers. Would probably decrease sugar next time and think it would still be tasty
Could I make this with white sugar instead of raw!
Delicious! Thank you & lovely malty flavour. Will definitely do again but make in Thermie & churn in my Kitchenaid ice cream attachment to avoid it getting too icy.
This ice cream is divine! Made it for a BBQ and was loved by all!! Reduced the sugar to about 100g and was still sweet enough. Think this will become a regular in our household!!!!
Great flavour, a tad decadent!
would vanilla essence work as well as the paste?
Very yummy and moreish! I didn't have enough maltesers for the second mix, so added in some crushed tim tams instead... heavenly. Great base recipe for all kinds of flavours - thankyou!
Very easy to make.. Only want a small amount as its rich, but it is yummo!
Woolies has Malteasers half price for Father's Day so I will be making this again for my Malteaser crazy cousin's birthday this weekend! Delicious!
