    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Loved this recipe, i also cooked the meat only for 14 minutes and then put the vegies in for the remaining 6 minutes which made them perfect. My fussy husband loved it too so will become a regular in our house.

Loved this, quick & easy dinner. I used chuck steak and it still turned out tender. If you want crunchy veges, put them in later than the steak

Very nice chinese flavour. Be careful with the bicarb measurement as the 2nd time I made this recipe it ruined the sauce. Also steam the brocoli/veggies in a saucepan on the stove to ensure nice crunchy veggies. They can turn to mush at the end stage of mixing. Second time I cooked this dish I reduced the cooking time to 15 mins and chopped the brocoli head into thirds to ensure it didn't over cook but it still overcooked.

Goolia82:I would personally use a lean cut as its my preference, but others may prefer a richer cut of meat higher in fat.

Wow this was a beautiful dish. I agree with some of the above points re putting the vegetables on later. I chose to varoma the meat for 14min, then added the vegetables for remaining 6min to keep them crunchy. I also added some spring onion in the sauce. Even my two young kids loved it. So fresh

This was delicious 😊 Agreed, I did add my veggies in later in the cooking process.

  • 25. June 2017 - 22:10

The veggies don't need to be on there the whole time though! Mine were over steamed and went to mush at the end where I combined it all!
