Taste and season with salt and pepper.

During cooking, preheat oven to 200°C fan forced.

Boil at least 1 litre water in kettle and pour into large pot on stove.

Add chopped potatoes and a little salt and place lid on pot and bring to boil.

Remove lid and allow the potatoes to boil until soft - test with fork.Oil/butter large/8 cup pie dish/baking tray - ceramic is best I find.

Pour pie contents into dish and place in oven or leave on the bench if you have the luxury of space.

Add enough water to cover the blades of the TMX bowl then wash on speed 9 for 1 minute.Pour water out and add butterfly.

Add boiled, drained potatoes, milk &/or water, salt and butter and mash for 20 seconds on speed 3.

Top pie contents with mashed potato using a fork to create a texture that will crisp nicely.

Brush with butter and bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until mashed potato is golden brown.

Serve immediately. Goes nicely with homemade tomato/barbecue sauce.

Tip

Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" Note: This is not a new recipe but is the original from Moomin with minor changes that worked for me and the temperature added etc.  ank you Moomin, very nice.

Use any vegies you like up to the equivalent of those listed. You can just make it a complete vegie pie too.

Keep a spatula handy and regularly scrape down sides. Silicone ones are best.

You can use any type of stock in place of Quirky Cooking's.

The flavour was good but mine was a sloppy mess even only using 1 cup

Definitely use less water - it's a bit like soup otherwise. I used sweet potato instead. Loads of flavour!

This was fabulous. Stuck to the recipe except used half the water & Vegie stock instead of chicken stock. Made 4 x mini quiche dishes instead of one large pie. Fabulous use of leftover lamb - I enjoyed this more than the actual roast!

Omg this was amazing. The best shepherds pie recipe on here by far! I just used mince and a red onion and 1and ahalf cups water. Thanks and will Def make this again.

I used leftover roast lamb, added peas and used lentils instead of chia seeds (I had run out of chia) - big hit for my family - Delicious!!  10/10 tmrc_emoticons.)

Delicious - love that you don't need to wash the bowl in between mince and mash.

Delicious! I used minced beef and added a zucchini and some broccoli as I didn't have a leek or celery! also added a dash of chilli flakes for an extra kick. Didn't put as much water in as mentioned in previous comments and it was perfect! Definitely a keeper!

I would also use less water next time, possibly even halve it as it was too runny for me but apart from that-lovely!

I've cooked a few slightly different versions of Shepherd's Pie over the years and this was rated by far the best by the family.  I used my Everyday Cookbook concentrated stock as that's what I had on hand, and 2 cups boiling water, but I'd just use 1.5 cups boiling water in the future.  Thanks for this fabulous recipe!!

LOVE this recipe. Finally, a mince meal that isn't flavourless. Even my toddler loves it!
