Recipe's preparation

    Chicken Parcels
  1. Pre-heat oven to 180'c.

Put onion and carrot in TM and chop for 5 seconds at Speed 7

Add oil and saute for 2 minutes at speed 1 at 100'c

Add flour and stir for 3 seconds on speed 4

Add water and cook 1 minute at 70'c on Speed 1

Place chicken, stock, mustard and honey into bowl and cook for 5 minutes at 100'c, Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" and Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting"

Add cream and cook for 20 minutes, at 100'c on Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" and Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" .

Let mixture cool until it is cool enough to handle.

  2.

Spoon a portion of the mixture onto a puff pastry sheet and fold into a parcel. Do this for each parcel required leaving some of the mixture aside to use as a pour over sauce.

Lightly brush the parcels with water and bake the parcels in the oven for approx 20 - 30 minutes until golden.

When parcels are cooked, place onto a plate and drizzel the remaining mixture over the parcel. A small amount of water can be added if the mixture is too thick.

    Serve with salad or vegetables.

Tip

If you prefer a thicker sauce you can add some cornflour and a little water paste and cook for further 2 minutes at 100'c Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" and Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" .

Sause can also be eaten without baking into puff pastry with rice or vegetables.

Mixed reviews from the family. Some liked it, some thought was ok.

Had to add a bit of corn flour to thicken the sauce, as too runny. If I made again would need to consider adding something else to help lift the flavour..... maybe more honey or mustard?

My husband thinks these are just as good as our gourmet butchers!

I added mushrooms and frozen peas, and salt and pepper. I used corn flour too.

I cranked the oven to over 220 degrees.

Allowed mixture to cool, but would leave it longer next time to cool even more.

Considering using Filo pastry next time, but the puff pastry was still great.

I would add extra veggies next time too!

    Thanks! Delicious!

Left  over roast chicken and  asparagus were added to the cooled sauce and left in the fridge until ready to use. In the evening I filled the puff pastry and baked the parcels. They were delicious with various salads. Next time I will try with raw chicken.  Cooking 7

i made this again and used Carnation evaporated milk in place of water and cream. Just as good and hopefully less fatty. Next time I will use less liquid.

Big Smile Made these tonight as individual pies and they were a hit with everyone.  Like others mentioned I added cornflour to thicken and let mixture cool before putting in pastry.  I also added mushrooms, parsley, spring onions and celery. Thanks for the recipe

These are yummy my kids even ate them!! Mine did dry out a little & I only did 4 parcels per sheet of pastry I think I will do 2 per sheet next time & put in more filling. I added more mustard & more honey but will try it with wine also next time.  I did thicken it with the cornflour that worked a treat.
