Ingredients

Pie Filling

  • 1 clove garlic, peeled
  • 1 brown onion, peeled and halved
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 carrot, roughly cut
  • 1 zucchini, roughly cut
  • 100 g mushrooms
  • 1/4 bunch parsley, leaves only
  • 400 g tomatoes, halved (or use 1 can)
  • 500 g lean beef mince
  • 1 tablespoon TMX vegetable stock concentrate
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoon Worstershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 200 g Frozen peas and corn

Pie Topping

  • 800 g potatoes, pumpkin, or sweet potato, choose one or use a combo
  • 20 g Butter
  • dash --- cream/milk
  • 2 --- handfuls grated cheddar cheese

Recipe's preparation

  1. Peel and cut your potato/pumpkin/sweet potato into small pieces. Place in varoma dish and on varoma tray. Set aside.

     

    Add onion and garlic to the bowl and chop, 5s, Sp7.

     

    Scrape down sides. Add olive oil and saute 5min, 110C, Sp1.

     

    Add carrot, zucchini, mushrooms and parsley and chop 5s, Sp5.

     

    Scrape down sides and saute a further 5min, 110C, Sp1.

     

    Add tomatoes and chop 5s, Sp5. 

     

    Add beef, stock concentrate, tomato paste, worstershire sauce, mustard powder and curry powder.

     

    Place Varoma containing potatoes in place and cook 25min, Varoma temp, Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"  Sp2.

     

    When cooked, mash potatoes with butter and cream/milk until smooth.

     

    Pour meat mixture into a shallow dish, stir through frozen peas and corn, and top with mashed potatoes.

     

    Sprinkle with cheese and bake in oven at 180C for approximately 20-25min or until cheese has browned.
