Recipe's preparation

  1. Add sugar and yeast to bowl then add water (if your water is warm, just wait until it starts to foam or if cold, 2mins/37 deg/speed soft).

Add flour, salt and olive oil to yeast mixture and knead 2mins/kneading function - keep close to your Thermie so it doesn't walk off the bench.

Wrap your dough in a Thermomat or put it in an oiled bowl covered with clingfilm or a wet tea towel and leave to rise for as long as you have (10 mins will do if you are in a hurry) or until it has doubled in size.

Roll out your dough and place it on a heated tray or pizza stone. While you are topping your pizza, it will rise again and become lovely and fluffy! Enjoy!

Tip

This recipe can be comfortably doubled (4 large bases) for TM5 and TM6 users or 1 and a half times (3 large bases) for TM21 and TM31 users.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
