Ingredients
- Half celeriac, peeled and chopped
- Half med carrot, chopped
- 1 med zucchini, chopped
- 1 Onion, peeled and halved
- 2 pods star anise
- Half tablespoon celery seed
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 egg
- 120 grams Self Raising Flour
- Oil for deep frying

Place sea salt, garlic and star anise pods in TM bowl. Speed 7 for 8 seconds or until crushed. Scrape down sides with spatula.
Add celeriac, carrot, zucchini, onion, celery seed to TM bowl. Speed 4 for 3-4 seconds or until chopped to rough salad consistency. Scrape down sides with spatula.
Add egg and flour. Reverse "Counter-clockwise operation" speed 4 for 10 seconds or until combined.
Mixture should resemble a chunky, soft, wet doughy mixture.
Heat oil in deep fryer to 170 degrees. Drops small balls into the mixture and fry until golden brown.
Tip
Can be served with hommus or Greek yoghurt mixed with chopped fresh mint.

These are absolutely amazing!! I've found the takeaways lately put way too much flour in to buff them out so they lose their flavour, but these are back to traditional. I didn't have any celery seeds so I replaced with fresh dill and put parsnip in instead of celeriac. I served with the tzaziki from cookidoo and they are perfect!! Thank you!

So sorry for not replying earlier. I have not been on here for a very long time. I wouldn't recommend steaming. Unfortunatley these are one of these things that just taste so good fried.
