Ingredients

  • 150 g Fresh Beetroot
  • 400 g Chickpeas, drained & Rinsed (one tin)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 40 g tahini
  • 15 g lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 6 Large Mint Leaves
  • to taste salt & pepper

Recipe's preparation

  1. Steam whole unpeeled Beetroot in Varoma for 25mins Veroma sp2.  Beetroot is best steamed with skin on to retain its colour. Peel when cool enough to handle.

    Empty and dry TM bowl.

    Add Garlic and chop for 4sec sp7

    Scrap down sides.

    Add Beetroot, Tahini, Lemon Juice, Cumin, Mint Leaves & Salt/Pepper

    Blend on sp5-7 until desired texture is reached. If you like a runny mix add a couple tablespoons of water or more lemon juice.

    This tatses awesome thou next time will add more mint as I love mint and couldnt taste it enough. Was a big hit at my mothers morning tea with crackers and vege sticks

    I made this, thought it was ok however now realise that I didn't add the chickpeas. I thought it was worth mentioning that they are in the ingredients list but not in the method.

    Big Smile i love hommus and this one gives the added bonus of beetroot!

    It doesnt taste overly strong of chickpeas or the beetroot and made it 

    to recipe and it was nice and firm, great with crackers, veggie sticks, salad or

    watered down with salad dressing over greens, great colour!!
