Ingredients

Choko sauce

  • 4 Choko's, peeled & cubed, (600g)
  • 2 Small lemons, juiced, (60g)
  • 1 tablespoon (heaped) rice malt syrup, (40g)
  • 1.5 - 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add choko's, lemon juice, rice malt syrup and 1.5 tsp of cinnamon into bowl, chop 30 seconds, speed 4. Scrape sides.

    Cook 12 mins, speed 4, 90deg. Scrape sides. 

    Blend 30 seconds, slowly rising to speed 9 over the 30 seconds (allowing steam to escape slowly).

    Cook a further 3 mins, speed 4, 90 deg. 

    Check flavour (careful not to burn your tongue!) add the last .5 tsp of cinnamon if required and blend speed 3, 6 seconds. 

    Pour into sterilised jars.

    They are a vegetable, that kinda taste like an apple when stewed but just not as sweet.  I was going to try and post you a photo, but I can't figure that out. If you type choko in the search field it will bring a photo up.

    My nan just told me the other day they are ally nice baked with a baked dinner or as a veggie in stew.
