Just what I was looking for! I did a half recipe and used sour cream - needed a bit of milk added as it was a thick texture, but really delicious sauce. Thank you!
Made this tonight and was a little disappointed. Great flavour but the sauce was way to runny and the mushrooms needed to be cooked longer. Will double the cornflour next time and cook at 100 instead of 80 for the second 5 minute cooking segment.
Amazing1: I found the same. Really tasty, but a tad on the runny side.
I think I might try it with 1 tbsp of cornflour, instead of 1/2, next time and I also think I might add a handful of grated cheese at the end for some extra flavour and gooey goodness.
What would be a good substitute for cream?
Tasy sauce, it was a little runny so will put more cornflour in next time.
Used this recipe tonight for a basic fast after-work meal plus next-day working lunches poured over chicken and garlic ravioli - absolutely fantastic! Substituted plain rather than corn flour and used lite sour cream to really enhance the flavour of the thyme and mushrooms - result is we have an extremely versatile new family favourite! Thank You!
Has anyone tried to freeze this sauce? Not sure as it has cream in it.
As per comments I added a tsp of Dijon with the mushrooms. Found the mushies werent cooked enough at the end so gave them another 2.5mins, 100deg, spd soft. Also finished with 1sec on spd 4 to make the mushrooms smaller. Overall, very yummy!
Love this sauce on steak. I didn't have cream go I uses milk and 2 teaspoon of corn flour.
This has become a firm favourite in our house, for steak, chicken and roast beef. Can't go past this sauce
