Ingredients
Tomato Chutney TM6
- 200 g red onion (approx 2), peeled & quartered
- 250 g tart apples (approx 2), peeled, cored & quartered
- 1000 g ripe tomatoes, up to 1200g
- 150 g raw sugar
- 200 g apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1/4 tablespoons cayenne pepper (or more if you like spice)
- 2 whole cloves
- 100 g Saltanas
- 2 teaspoons salt

- 1. You may wish to skip this step as i often do. Peel the tomatoesby the base of each tomatoe with a cross. Place in a large bowl and cover with boiling water, leave for 5 minutes. Skins should easily peel away. Chop the peeled tomatoes into quarters.
2. Place 200 g red onion (approx 2), peeled & quartered and 250 g tart apples (approx 2), peeled, cored & quartered. chop 5 sec/speed 6
3. Place 1000 g ripe tomatoes, up to 1200g into bowl, chop 5 sec/speed 5
4. Add 150 g raw sugar
5. Add, 200 g apple cider vinegar
6. Add 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
7. Add 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
8. Add 1/4 tablespoons cayenne pepper (or more if you like spice)
9. Add 2 whole cloves
10. add 100 g Sultanas
11. Add 2 teaspoons salt
12. place M/C into mixing bowl lid and mix for
13. Remove MC and place basket on top to prevent splashes. Cook 60 min/100°C//speed 1
14. Cook a further 20 min/Varoma//speed 1
15. Test the consistency of the chutney by seeing if it coats the back of a spoon. If you like thicker sauce, cook a further 10 min/Varoma//speed 15-10 minutes/Varoma/speed 1.
16. Bottle into sterilsed jars. Seal lids when hot.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
