I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Roughly chop cauliflower and place in bowl. Turbo 5 – 6 times until there are no large clumps. Place into thermomix basket.
Put water into the bowl, and then place the basket in the bowl. Put lid in place, then place varoma on top.
Place sliced bacon into the varoma first, then your hard veggies (carrot, broccoli etc) then peas & corn. Cook on varoma temp for 19 minutes on speed 3.5
While that is cooking, wet some baking paper, enough to cover the varoma tray (it doesn’t matter if the paper overlaps the sides of the tray), and place the paper in the tray, then pour in the egg
When there is 9 minutes left on the timer, place the varoma tray with the egg, into the varoma
Once its finished, roll up the cooked egg and slice, place the cooked cauliflower in a bowl and put cooked veggies/bacon & egg on top. Pour in the kecap manis and mix with a large spoon until the kecap manis is evenly distributed.
Tip
If you dont like Kecap Manis (sweet soy) you can substitue for normal soy sauce, or other sauce of your preference

I found the egg wasn't cooked after 9 mins, so I just went on to cook it for an extra 3 minutes at speed 3.5. Maybe I will also remove the basket with rice before extra cooking as the rice was quite soggy. It was my first time using varoma and making this recipe so can't be sure what the rice should have been like. But all in all delicious. I'd maybe de a little salt also.
The flavour is nice, but the cauliflower definately doesnt need to be turbo-ed. It was almost like puree! I did it on reverse sp 5 and it turned out much better.
I do like this as a healthy alternative
very nice, finished it off in the fry pan as the girls like the egg scrambled with the rice mixed in, used just plain soy as having it with butter chicken
This dish was enjoyed by most of our household (except teenage boy) so will be making again thank you
I can't say I enjoyed this dish at all unfortunately. The cooked cauliflower clung to the vegies like soggy weetbix and tasted bland regardless of the amount of kecap manis I used.
