Tip
This recipe is from my Swiss mother. As kids my bother and I would always get excited when we had knoepfli (Swiss name for Spätzle) now my children get excited when I make it for them... As for the special pan, I got mine from Switzerland so I'm not sure where you could buy one here in Australia sorry!

Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

I love spaetzle & I used this recipe for the first time tonight. Turned out well, although I did need to add an extra tablespoon of water after mixing. Re where to buy the pan - i use my potato rice with the medium holes, but I also found this link on Amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/Hicook-Stainless-Spaetzle-Traditional-Spaghetti/dp/B0773VMF3X.
OMG!! I have been cooking Goulash for my (hungarian heritage) husband since we were teens and have always served it with mashed potato... Well never again after tonight. I cooked it through a pot drainer, with dough cutter and worked awesome. Though I think I will have to buy a spatzle utensil as this will be my go to from now on. Edited : Bought a spatzle maker from Amazon, so much easier.
Made it for dinner tonight and had it with meatballs and sauce. Beautifully silky and soft. Will definitely be doing this again and again. Love, love, love!
What is so special about your pan? Is it the grater? I am wondering if I can just use my own pan?
Great recipe ! Similar to Hungarian recipe called nokedli.
You can substitute a colander for the spätzle utensil , otherwise the utensil can be purchased from the Internet.
i got my utensil in Hungary.
