Recipe's preparation

    Varoma Steamed Vegies
  1. Fill mixing bowl with 500ml water

  2. Trim and cut vegies into pieces to fit varoma.

  3. Place vegies into your top and bottom Varoma trays. Placing vegies like zucchini into the top tray as it takes less time to cook. Harder vegies, such as carrots, cook better in the lower tray. Or you can add your carrots into the lower simmering basket (the one you would use for rice) and place inside the mixing bowl.

  4. Closed lid"Closed lid" Place Varoma on top of mixing bowl.

  5. Cook for 20mins on Varoma sp4.

  6. If you find your vegies are still a little too firm just cook for an extra 5mins to your liking.

Tip

If you find your vegies are not completely cooked through to you liking, you can always add an extra 5 minutes to your cooking time.

This recipe is interchangeable and you can use any vegetables you like.

    Recipe is created for
    TM 6
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
  • Appliance TM 5 image
    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
