Tried this recipe for the first time today. It's great. The good thing about it is all the ingredients are products you would normally have in your pantry. Easy peasy

Tastes nice. Quick and easy but way too crumbly. We put it in the fridge and it set nicely so it's a winner here

    Quick, tasty, but too crumbly.

These babies are so fragile. Although they taste yummy, like a good ol' fashioned slice, they aren't suitable for little hands (or big clumsy hands) as they disintegrate under pressure too easily. You pretty much have to shove it in your mouth in one bite. I'll try putting them in the fridge to firm them up, but I prefer my slice at room temperature.

This is now a firm family favourite. We sprinkle nerds on top for a bit of zing. Friends now regularly request us bring this along to picnics.

Is the coconut 'desiccated' or could I use freshly grated coconut?

For a dairy free version i swapped the butter for coconut oil in the base and made the icing with just icing sugar cocoa and water. Delicious! Everyone wanted seconds!
