Recipe's preparation

Salted Caramel Brownie - big batch
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees & grease tin (*see notes for tin size)

Weigh flour, cocoa & salt into bbl & 'sift' 10 sec / speed 4

either set aside in a separate bowl for later or grab a 2nd clean bbl
  2. Weigh butter & choc chips into a clean bbl & melt 4 mins / 50 deg / speed 2

scrape down and repeat another 1.5 mins / 50 deg / speed 2 if not completely melted
  3. Add brown sugar, vanilla & eggs & mix 30 sec / speed 5
  4. Add sifted flour & cocoa back in and mix 25 sec / speed 5

Don't overmix at this step, if not fully combined mix through with spatula
  5. Pour into prepared tin and dollop spoonfuls of tinned caramel on top and lightly swirl through

The caramel will sink to the bottom so be extra careful not to overmix
  6. Bake 180 degrees in preheated oven for 60 mins or until brownie mixture is just set

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
