Ingredients

Base

  • 350 grams plain biscuits, eg. Granita, Digestives, Chocolate, Butternut cookies
  • 170 grams Butter, Melted Refer Everyday Cookbook

Mousse

  • 200 grams milk chocolate
  • 200 grams dark chocolate
  • 600mls Thickened or Pure Cream
  • 130 grams Milk
  • Cocoa Powder or Chocolate Shavings to decorate
  • Strawberries halved for decoration

Recipe's preparation

    Base
  1. 1. Grease 22cm base spring from pan.  Line base and sides with baking paper.

     

    2. Place biscuits in TM bowl process 15sec/speed 7 repeat if necessary until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.

     

    3. Add melted butter mix 10sec/speed 2

     

    4 Press mixture over base of pan, refrigerate 30mins

  2. Mousse
  3. 1. Place dark chocolate into TM bowl chop 10 sec/speed 8  Set aside in seperate bowl

     

    2. Place milk choclate in TM bowl chop 10sec/speed 8 add half of milk 65g heat 2mins/50*/speed 1  Set mixture aside in seperate bowl

     

    3. No need to clean TM bowl add grated dark chocolate, add rest of milk 65g heat 2mins/50*/speed 1  Set mixture aside in seperate bowl

     

    4. Clean TM Bowl insert Butterfly pour in cream whip 2-50sec pending on cream Speed 3 with MC off

     

    5. Gently fold half of whipped cream through the Milk Chocoate mix and other half in Dark chocolate mix

     

    6 Spread dark chocolate mixture over base, spread milk chocolate ontop of that.

     

    7 Dust with cocoa or grated chocolate and decorate with strawberries

    Flavours were great but it didnt set properly... It was very runny... i used thickened cream but when folding in the chocolate mixture it went all very soft and didn't stay firm/fluffy like a mousse...I probably did something wrong but not sure what exactly

    Choclolate cake is not my favourite type of cake BUT this mousse cake is a really tasty recipe.  When I made it, everyone wanted the recipe and it all went very quickly! I used granita biscuits in my version and would highly recommend them. Another easy dessert added to my every growing recipe file!

    Hoping to add a white choc layer as you have done tmrc_emoticons.)tmrc_emoticons.).. could you please just confirm with me if by adding the white choc layer you did this to the other two dark choc, milk choc layers? plus the biscuits base? Thank you!

    Delightful.

    i have made this twice now. 2nd time I added a white chocolate layer and it was def a hit.  made sure people were not on a diet before serving it up though.  tmrc_emoticons.p
