I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- 1. Place flour into a plastic bag along with the salt and pepper.
2. Cut stewing steak into chunks and place into bag with flour and shake to coat the meat.
3. You can brown the meat in a pan in oil at this stage if you have the time to, because it really does add a lot of flavour. If you don’t have the time you can skip this step.
4. Place onions and garlic in TM bowl and blitz 6 seconds speed 5.
5. Scrape down sides of bowl and add the oil and sauté 6 minutes Varoma speed 2.
6. Add tomato paste, balsamic, tawny port or red wine, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, oregano and bay leaves. Cook 5 minutes Varoma speed 1.
7. Add the stock, water, carrots and beef and cook 40 minutes 100 speed reverse soft.
8. Add potatoes, peas and corn and cook 10 minutes 100 reverse speed soft.
9. Then remove TM measuring cup and cook for another 8 minutes 100 reverse speed soft.

Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
