Ingredient prep
Cooking the pasta
Tip
The MC is on for all the steps.
The total cooking time for the pasta is 20 minutes. I have broken it down into steps to make it easy to remember to stir the pasta.
You can speed up the cooking time by submerging the pasta in boiling water in a thermoserver instead of rinsing it in the first step. Leave it submerged whilst preparing the cheese and zucchini. Then use boiling water in step 4. It should then only need 10 minutes to cook, but then omit the milk in the final step or the sauce will be too runny.
Increase the amount of cheese if your like a very strong flavour, the flavour is mild.
It could be made gluten free with the appropiate pasta, you may need to ajust cooking times.
I adapted this recipe from ThermOMG website to simplify it and work in the TM5. I use UHT thickened cream, 200ml packets which we keep as a staple in the pantry.

TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

This was just ok. I much prefer the thermobexta version, it has a better depth of flavour. I did use the garlic and onion powder as well as others had commented.
I've been looking for a substitute for packaged alfredo and this is it! I added the tsp of onion powder and garlic powder as suggested. As I have 2 teenagers, and they wanted more, I might increase the proportions next time, which means cooking the noodles on the stove.the zucchini wasn't at all noticed so I might also increase the amount for a bit of extra veg. Wonderful recipe! Will be a regular in our house
This was very tasty - even Hubby said it was a nice pasta dish. Won't be buying packet pasta anymore. I did add a tsp of onion and garlic powder as per other comments
Great, easy weekday recipe. Kids loved it - I did peel the zucchini first so that they had no idea it was in there. I did as other members mentioned by cooking chicken above it in the varoma. I also added some garlic and onion powder which took it to another level. Thank you for a great recipe.
This was delicious, I added a tsp each of onion and garlic powder too. Will definitely make this again, thank you.
Delicious. My zucchini hating son loved it, the toddler shoveled it in by the handful and partner and I enjoyed it too. Easy side dish when making a new and fiddly main.
I made this using vegan cheese (Sheese), Rice Whip & Nutritional Yeast as a dairy free version. Plus added a vine ripened tomato. YUM, will definitely make again!
Loved this recipe. Used carrot as did not have zucchini
Deliciousness
I omitted the zucchini as I didn't have one. I added a shake of garlic powder and onion powder to the cheese. I added extra Parmesan and a handful of sharp cheddar. Other than that I followed the recipe
I just love this recipe I added chicken in the top tray of the varoma for the whole time of the cooking. This time I fried up some bacon and onion in the fry pan while it was cooking and added it at the end to the thermoserver was absolutely sensational. I haven't used any packets or jars since finding this recipe it works perfectly every time and the whole family loves it!
