Ingredients

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 500 g bacon rashers, Rind removed & chopped roughly
  • 250 g onion, peeled & quartered
  • 50 g Butter
  • 100 g Mushroom, sliced
  • 100 g shallots, sliced
  • 900 g cabbage, Shredded (about a qtr cabbage)
  • salt & pepper, to taste

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add Bacon to TM Bowl, chop on Speed 6 for 3 sec. Set aside. No need to clean bowl.

  2. Add Garlic & Onion to the TM Bowl, chop on Speed 6 for 3 sec.

  3. Add Butter, saute 100c / Speed 1 / 3 mins

     

  4. Add Bacon and saute 100c / Speed 1 / 5 mins

  5. Insert Butterfly and add Mushrooms & Shallots, saute 100c / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" Speed 1 / 2 mins

  6. Add half the cabbage then cook Varoma / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" / 5 mins

  7. Add the other half of the cabbage and cook on Varoma / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" / 20 mins. Replace the MC with the basket to help reduce the liquid.

Tip

I add a decent amount of salt & pepper, but my kids prefer very little so tend to add it at the very end on the plate.

    This dish doesn't look good but tastes great. Personally I would leave the bacon chuncky. I would also halve the recipe because it is too much for a family of four as a side dish.

    This was really good! I left out the bacon and shallots as I didnt have any and mushrooms as I dont like them, and it was still tasty. I halved the recipe and added 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper and 1/2 tsp dill...will definitely make again, it almost tasted a little like caramelized onions.
