Ingredients
Quinoa and Pear Salad
- 400 grams quinoa, double rinsed and drained
- 2 Pears - Peeled & diced, tinned or fresh
- 1x 400 gram tin chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- parsley, small handful
Dressing
- 4 tablespoons failsafe oil
- 3/4 teaspoon citric acid
- 2 tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, (optional)

Chop parsley in the Thermomix bowl – 3secs on Sp4 – set aside.
Put all dressing ingredients into the Thermomix bowl and whisk for 10secs, Sp 6 Set aside.
Add 1litre water to the Thermomix bowl.
Place the quinoa in the TM basket and place in the Thermomix
Cook for 10mins, Varoma, Sp4.
Stir quinoa and cook another 10mins, Varoma, Sp 4
Remove and place into a bowl.
Pour half of the dressing over the quinoa, stir through and allow to cool.
Once cooled, add the remaining dressing, pears, chickpeas and parsley.
Method
Tip
When rinsing quinoa use a fine sieve instead of the TM basket.
Always stop to stir the quinoa half way through the cooking process for a better result.
Variations
Add a handful of raw cashews or lettuce leaves.
For those who can tolerate spinach, toss through baby spinach leaves.
