Ingredients

  • 150 gram green split peas
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 carrot, quartered
  • 1 stick Celery, quartered
  • 30 grams butter or olive oil
  • 300 grams chicken breast or thigh, cubed
  • 1 litre water
  • 2 tablespoon TMX vegetable stock concentrate
  • pepper to taste

Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1. 1. Grind split peas in Thermomix bowl 30 seconds/speed 9. Set aside.

    2. Place onion, garlic, carrot and celery into bowl and chop 3 seconds/speed 5.

    3. Add butter and cook 3 minutes/100 degrees/speed 1.

    4. Add chicken and cook 3 minutes/100 degrees/speed 1.

    5. Add water, vegetable stock concentrate, ground split peas and pepper and cook 30 minutes/100 degrees/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 1.Serve into bowls. Enjoy!

Tip

Variations * Use 1 litre homemade chicken broth and season with salt as an alternative to the water and vegetable stock concentrate.   * Add some finely diced flat leaf parsley in the last minute of cooking.

    Thanks so much! It's lovely! I had a bit of an oops moment and put the water in before I put the ground split peas in (Don't do that!) but I managed to catch it in time and mixed the clumps back in.
