You now have a lovely crumbley mixture

  6. Step 3

Add the Milk/egg mixture to the cumbly mixture

  8. Turn Recipe out onto floured suface.

Dont knead just sqeeze together. If crumbly dont worry if moist sprinkle with a bit more flour.

Pat out to 2cm thickness. Using 6cm scone cutter you will get 16

  9. Baking
  10. Place scones on buttered and floured baking tray

Paint with the 2 tablespoons of Milk/Egg mixture you set aside

    Bake on middle shelf of a preheated oven(gas 9, 475F, 240C) for 10 - 12 mins

My oven only goes to gas mark 8 so had to bake the full 12 mins

Tip

As you can see I am a little slap dash with my ingredients sometimes it seems dry sometimes moist.

Scones seem to be fine either way

I think my mother used to add a small pinch of parika or cheyenne pepper.

Worth the try
