Ingredients

Apple filling

  • 500 grams green apple
  • 40 g raw sugar
  • 80 g water

Pastry base

  • 185 g Butter - softened
  • 150 g caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 270 g plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spice
  • 1 tablespoon Caster Sugar - extra

For serving

  • double cream

Recipe's preparation

    Apple Slice
  1. Apple filling -

    Wash and peel Apples

    Cut apples in half and Add to TM bowl with 40 g raw sugar.

    Chop on Speed 6 for 3 secs.  Add the water.

    Cook 100 degrees / 10 mins / speed 2

    Scrape down sides of bowl and pulverise  4 secs / speed 6 or until desired consistency. Set aside to cool.

  2. Pastry Base:

    Grease an 18cm x 28cm slice pan.

    Add butter and sugar to TM Bowl and cream for 2 mins / sp 4 until light and fluffy.

    Add the eggs and beat well for 6 secs / sp 5.

    Add Flour, cinnamon and mixed spice to TM bowl and combine for 10 secs / sp 4.

    Press half the dough over the base of a prepared pan. Top evenly with the cooled apple and sprinkle the extra caster sugar.

    Spoon the remaining dough over the apple layer, then carefully spread the dough to cover the mix evenly.

    Bake in moderate oven for 40 mins or until golden and firm.

    Cool in the pan then cut into squares.

    Serve with double cream.
