I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Add the water, oil and yeast into the bowl of the Thermomix. Heat to 37° / 2 mins / Sp 2 or until the green light stops flashing.
Add the rest of the ingredients in the order that they are listed and combine for 4 seconds / Sp 4.
Then 3 mins / "Closed lid" / "Dough mode" . Wrap dough in Thermomat and allow to double in size in a warm spot for about 25 minutes.
Knock down dough and knead lightly and then divide dough into eight even portions using your TM spatula instead of a knife.
Knead each ball lightly and roll into a ball. Using a rolling pin, roll into an oval disk the size of your hand (approximately)
Scatter a small amount of grated cheese over the disk (too much cheese will make it greasy and leak)
Top with shredded (or diced) ham and a small amount more of cheese, remembering to leave a 1cm space at the top and the bottom.
Cover with the Thermomat and allow to double in size in a warm spot before placing in a preheated 200° oven for 15-18 minutes. Allow to cool on a cooling rack so they don't become soggy. Enjoy...
Bread dough
Tip
If you have primary school aged kids (or younger), you could make these smaller. Instead of dividing the dough into 8, divide it into 10 or 12! Enjoy!
NB: depending on the brand of flour you use, you may need to add 10-20ml more water if your dough appears too dry and crumbly. Don't give up if your first batch isn't perfect. Eventually you'll have worked out the perfect recipe for you!
Other filling ideas could be: Cheese and Vegemite; Spinach and 3 cheeses; pizza fillings starting with tomato paste and cheese, etc.

Made these today for the grandkids for lunches etc and they are soft and delicious. I found them easier to make than the traditional scrolls because the filling stays inside better. Made them with shredded ham, cheese and pineapple. I also put some tomato sauce on the bottom (not tomato paste). I just put this in my favourites folder. Thanks for posting
Super easy & super yummy! My kids devoured them! Will be a new lunchbox fav for sure!! I did combinations of Tomato paste, shredded ham, salami, olives, pinapple, jalapeños & cheese! thanks for a great recipe!
Very easy and so delicious! Loved by my husband and 2 year old! I didn't have any ham so I fried some chopped bacon instead.
Have made these numerous times now, the whole family loves them. Ideal for picnics.
Super Recipe
Loved this recipe. Very easy with great results. I really like that they look different to the scrolls. I like the big size as I have teenagers.
Thank you for sharing this recipe. So simple to make and the kids LOVE them straight out of the oven or defrosted in their lunchboxes after freezing individually (I make them much smaller - probably end up with a couple of dozen).
Winning recipe! The dough was so silky & the scrolls were easy to make, very tasty & perfect for school lunches.
Made these for my hubby to eat on the way to work for breakfast. I might make them a little bigger next time. Best recipe I've found so far for filled rolls.
So easy to make. Kids love them and so does hubby!!!!! Sensational
So yum! My kids loved these and they can't wait to do them again and try different fillings!!
