Recipe's preparation

    Stewed Apple
  1. Add apples, lemon juice and sugar to a clean bowl.
  2. Cook for 9 mins/100/speed 1.
  3. Puree for 3 seconds/speed 5 to desired 'chunkiness'.
  4. Pour into a greased 8 cup capacity casserole dish. Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees if you plan to cook it straight away. It can sit covered for a few hours before serving.
  5. Crumble
  6. Without washing bowl from the apple step, add sugar, coconut, flour and butter.
  7. Combine for 10seconds/speed 10 to breadcrumb consistency.
  8. Sprinkle in a layer over stewed apple. Bake for 30-40 mins or until browned on top and apple is bubbling around the sides. Serve with cream, ice cream - or both!

Tip

You could make this gluten free by swapping the flour for gluten free SR flour.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). I made this last night, very yummy crumble, I found that I shouldn't of blended the apple as it was like baby food, will cut bigger chunks next time or reduce cooking a little, the crumble was amazing 🥰
