Recipe's preparation

  1. Place sunflower seeds in thermomix bowl, and blitz for 3 seconds on speed 8.

Add all other ingredients and blitz for 60 seconds on speed 9.

Roll into teaspoon size balls, and roll balls in extra dessicated coconut (optional). Kids love helping with this one!

Makes 30 teaspoon size balls, or 15 tablespoon size balls if you prefer them larger.

Note: If your child's school is coconut free as well, coconut oil and dessicated coconut can be omitted from ingredients.

Tip

Place some dessicated coconut in a sandwich bag & shake coconut over balls - much less messy!

Easy recipe, thanks Lynda. Just made my first batch to try out on the grandchildren. A healthy alternative. 🙂

A hit with the kindy kid. He didn't seem to notice they were different from his usual bliss balls with almonds in them.

    So yummy, love them!

    Yum!
I didn’t have sunflower seeds so swapped with pumpkin seeds and oats in step one.

i also can’t be stuffed rolling, so flatten in a small tin with baking paper with coconut top and bottom. Set in fridge, then cut and freeze in small bars #lazyhack

We love these bliss balls - they're our go to recipe for the kids (and mine) lunchboxes or afternoon tea. I sometimes add a few drops of peppermint or orange food grade essential oil to the cacao to change the flavour. I've also used chocolate protein powder in place of the cacao/cocoa and it tastes great too. They're also popular at work when we have a shared morning tea. Thanks for sharing!

Delicious! Thanks for a nut free recipe that the kids can take to school!

Delicious! So perfect for lunch boxes.. Except my three year old and I ate half the batch as we were rolling them!
I left out the honey and coconut oil and also didn't roll them in desiccated coconut as I prefer without. Also had to substitute cranberries for the apricots as I'd run out. So yummy!

Great bliss balls - I didn't use the oil or honey. Might try more Cacao next time.

These were quite oily even though I left the coconut oil out, but were delicious anyway. Kids loved rolling the mixture into balls (I dislike this step!)
