Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Grease 1.5 Litre over proof dish.

Place Onion and Garlic into TM bowl - Chop for 7 seconds on speed 4 - Scrape down the sides

    Add 50g Butter - Saute for 2 minutes, 100 degree, speed 1.

Add Bacon slices and cook for 4 mins, 100degrees, Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" , speed 1

Add Flour and stir for 2 minute, 80 degrees, speed 1Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" while gradually adding milk. Scrape down the sides. Add salt, stock paste and 100g of cheese then cook for 5 minutes on 90 degree, speed 2Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" .

Strain Pasta and place into Oven proof dish. Stir in mixure & remaining (50g) Cheese.

Rinse & dry TM bowl (I can never be bothered). Place remaining Butter (50g), breadcrumbs and parmesan into TM bowl and saute for 2 minute, 100 degree, speed 1. Remove and spread over Macaroni and cheese to cover.

Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly golden.

Serve with salad, garlic bread or by itself.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

    That was crazy good!!

So good with Panko breadcrumbsSo good with Panko breadcrumbs

Slightly fiddly and time consuming the first time round but I'm sure I'll get quicker. Daughter says "My new favourite food". Well done on the post. Thanks

Turned out perfectly except had an overpowering onion taste. I think onion and garlic cooked with the Butter should be for at least 3minutes (as per most TM endorsed recipies). My onion was large (as suggested). Overall consistency and “punch” was perfect. Especially d
good using TM breadcrumbs with multigrain bread. I’d also add another step to grate the Parmesan at the very beginning and set aside for topping step.

Nice family favourite recipe.  Think next time I'll mix the Macoroni with the sauce for a few seconds before putting it in the dish.

This is a really good go-to recipe for lunch for the tennis ladies but I'd prefer more punch personally - more garlic or a hit oF vegie stock maybe?
