I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Peel and cut the onion into quarters and place in TM bowl with the garlic. Chop on speed 5 for 5 seconds.
Use your TM spatula to scrape the onion and garlic down and then saute' for 2 mins, 100deg, speed 1, reverse "Counter-clockwise operation"
Trim excess fat off the meat, add to TM bowl in bite sized pieces. Saute' for another 2mins, 100deg, reverse "Counter-clockwise operation" , speed soft "Gentle stir setting"
Add add all other ingredients, except carrots and celery and start cooking for 60 mins, 100deg, reverse, speed soft "Gentle stir setting"
Quickly prepare your carrots and celery and add to the bowl through the hole in the lid.
You can add other vegies as desired eg capsicum and frozen peas a little later.
Serve with mashed potato (and peas). We add pumpkin and /or sweet potato to our mash. Or serve with rice.
The tapioca will thicken the stew as it cooks. As the liquid contents of meat and vegetables varies, you may have more liquid than you want. The excess can be reduced by tilting the MC (cap) onto an angle for the last 15 mins of cooking time. We love the gravy and mop it up with the mash or bread rolls

A bit too bland for us, sorry

Tasty, hearty winter meal, definitely making again! Subbed 2 small, chopped potatoes for the tapioca, and added in some mushrooms and a small spoon of vege stock as others had suggested.
Served meal with sour cream and brown basmati, very filling and so delicious. I was going to add peas towards the end but forgot. However it was fine without, 5 star main meal, thank you! 😊😋
This was lovely! Added 200g mushrooms with the rest of the veg. A real winner.
Nice dish. Wasn't sure how much flavour it would have, but it came out really nice. the beef was tender and juicy. Not dry at all which surprised me. I added the lentils (no tapioca) a cup of beef stock. Used capsicum, celery, parsley and carrots and served on steamed jasmine rice.
This was quick to prepare and surprisingly very very tasty. Will definitely make again, thanks for the recipe.
very nice dish.
Delicious. A real winner
Hi. Thank you so much for your yummy recipe. It was delicious. Based on some of the others' feedback I did add 1 tbsp of Vege stock to the mix. It was incredibly flavoursome.
This is the best stew recipe I've found. I make it frequently and always add extra vegetables (whatever I have in the fridge). Great family meal and I love that I always have leftovers.
