Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Thankyou for the recipe xx My first time cooking a beef roast in the Thermomix and it worked out really well. Yes the onion gravy does make it extra tasty 😁
I used a nice piece of grass fed beef which was 1.5kg. I used the recipe above but also added 15 minutes and then browned the meat in the oven. I used leek and a little shallot instead of onion.I did not have thyme on its own so I used Herbie's Herbs de Provence which has thyme, marjoram etc. Also, made the Yorkshire puds for the first time and sweet potato mash with the Thermomix. Enjoyed by the family I used 30g butter.
Really nice. Sauce just makes it. Cooked meat for an extra 15 minutes as I had a small veal blade piece that was a little tough. I added potatoes to simmer basket and other veg to meat in the last 15 minutes. Thank you for sharing.
We enjoyed this dish.
My family found the meat was tender and the gravy had lovely flavour. Next time I am going to try and make it a all in one dish by adding potatoes to the basket then greens to top tray of varoma. Thanks for the recipe
Would like to try this - there is no quantity of butter listed?
