- 1 Whole chicken, approx 1.2kg
- 600 g Rock or Coarse Salt
- 1 tsp fine salt
- 1/4 tsp Five Spices
- 10 g Sand ginger
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 Big Baking paper, able to wrap the whole chicken
- 1 cotton rope, to tide

I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
1) Clean the chicken, hanging to dry, dry with paper towel inside out again
2) Marinate with 1tsp of fine salt (inside out); apply sand ginger (inside out)
3) Mix rock salt with five spice and set aside
4) apply the 1TB of oil on the chicken surface
5) Wrap the chicken with oven paper and tide with a rope
6) Place the wrap chicken on top another large piece of oven paper, surrounding with rock salt mixure
7)wrap nicely, prepare for steaming
Place 600ml of water into "Closed lid" , 5m/V/"Gentle stir setting"
9) Place the steamer ontop of "Closed lid" , place the chicken in the Varoma basket, 30m/v/sp 1, turn the other side and steam another 30m to ensure is well-done

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
