I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Slice chicken into 7-10mm thick slices, coat in sesame oil. Put aside.Put rice into basket and rinse. Put 900g water into bowl and put basket with rice in. Put lid on thermomix.
Wash and cut vegetables as you would for a stirfry, but put them in the lower basket of the Varoma steamer - it is important to leave a 'well' in the middle for the steam to come through. Place on top of Thermomix.
Lay chicken out on upper tray of Thermomix. If your chicken has been cut inconsistently, put the thicker pieces in the centre where the well will allow the steam through, or the sides where the vents are. Do not overlap the chicken, but you can cover the entire tray if you need to. (If you can't fit it all on, you can do a second round of cooking.)
Put the chicken tray on top of the vegetables, and put the lid on the chicken.
Cook at Varoma for 15minutes at speed 4.
(This is a variant of the steamed fish recipe on page 109 of the EDC).

Tip
The Ginger Dipping Sauce takes it to the next level for the grownups. Or if you're making this for the kids, drizzle some soy sauce on the rice and chicken. Not too much!

Very tasty. I added a little soy to the oil when marinading the chicken. It was very easy to make.
Not too bad but......the chicken was a bit bland and my veg was still quite firm after 18 minutes. Rice was cooked perfectly. Next time I would increase cooking time of veg only and season the chicken versus just the sesame oil. Quick and easy though
I made this for tea - for extra flavour sprinkle a packet of chicken noodle soup over rice then pour the water through it. Also marinated the chicken in teriyaki - very nice!
