    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

You don't need custard powder you can make custard easily

I found it too sweet and found I had to add a lot more cornflour to get the custard to work. Next time I'll try using less sugar and more cornflour.

I don’t have vanilla beans. Can I substitute with vanilla extract? If so, how many grams ?

Custard powder is good. But the recommended way to make custard did not work. Ended up using 1/2 the powder to try and get it to work, had to add corn flour and lots of time, and got a really sugary custard. But will definetly use this powder in another custard recipe 😀

It would be great if you could leave feedback about this recipe instead of only advertising your stuff on it.

Just the seeds. I place the pods in a small jar filled with sugar so you have vanilla flavoured sugar for other sweets or in tea.

Im so sorry it took me this long to see your comment.

This might be a silly question. Do you use the seeds as well as the pods not sure. I am interested in making this because the comercial custard powder doesn't seem to thicken these days and is very annoying.
