Ingredients

Hokkien Noodle and Turkey Stri-fry

  • 600 g hokkien noodles
  • 1 level tbsp cornflour
  • 125 g water
  • 60 g kecap manis
  • 60 g hoisin sauce
  • 20 g rice vinegar
  • 20 g peanut oil
  • 600 g turkey breast fillet, skinless, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium, brown onion, cut into halves
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 1cm piece ginger
  • 150 g snow peas, trimmed
  • 1 bunch buk choy, trimmed
  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced
  • 6 button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 bunch broccolini, trimmed, cut into quarters
  • slivered almonds, to garnish

Recipe's preparation

  1. In a large bowl, cover hokkien noodles with boiling water, spereate with a fork and drain water. Set aside.
  2. In a small jug, mix cornflour and water until smooth. Then add kecap manis, hoisin sauce and rice vinegar to TM bowl and mix 5sec/sp5. Set aside.
  3. Add 10g of the peanut oil and turkey breast to TM bowl and cook 5min/ Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" spGentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" /varoma. Set aside.
  4. Add remaining oil, onion, garlic and ginger and chop 3sec/sp5. Scrape down sides of bowl with spatula and cook 2min/spGentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" /120deg.
  5. Add vegetables and cook 3min/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" sp1/varoma. Return pork, add sauce and cornflour mix and cook 5min/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" sp1/varoma. Ensure turkey and vegetables are cooked.
  6. Add stir-fry mix to noodles and mix through. Serve and sprinkle with slivered almonds.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
