I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add onion to bowl 3 sec/speed 7
  2. Add Garlic, Ginger & Oil 3 min/Varoma/speed 1
  3. Add carrot in chunks set to 8 sec/speed 4, with measuring cup off, and have capsicum ready to add at 2 seconds so that it is not mush
  4. Add diced ham and cook 5 min/Varoma/Speed 1/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"
  5. Place all of above now into your Varoma dish along with the Peas, Corn etc.. ensure you have steam holes free for steaming.
  6. Weigh and rinse rice into steaming basket
  7. Add 1000gm water into bowl, don't worry about cleaning it, steaming basket in place, varoma on top and cook 6 min/Varoma/Speed 3.5.
  8. While above is cooking mix together in a cup your Soya Sauce, Oyster Sauce and Vinegar, set aside
  9. I then fluffed up rice with a fork to see how it is cooking, then wet baking paper and scrunch up, place in thin varoma dish, with sides up so egg does not spill out, but stream holes on side free, and add eggs. Place above large varoma dish and then cook another 6-7 minutes/varoma/speed 3.5.

But keep an eye on the eggs as they fluff up when cooked and you don't want them overdone.
  10. Remove egg and slice up, check if rice is cooked.
Then add everything, rice, veggies, egg, sauce to a Thermoserver and gently mix them.
Set aside for 5 minutes and enjoy

Tip

You can use frozen peas, corn etc..
Also can change zucchini in place of Capsicum
You can also use brown rice but make sure you add extra time to cooking at item 7 & 9

    TM 6
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
