Ingredients
Classic Satay Sauce
- 150 g roasted unsalted peanuts
- 25 g olive oil
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic clove
- 3 cm fresh ginger
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 2 tsp curry powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 can coconut milk, 400ml
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice

Place 150g roasted unsalted peanuts in bowl. Place MC in lid and chop 10 seconds/speed 7. Place in a bowl and set aside.
Place onion, garlic and ginger in bowl, chop 3 seconds/speed 7.
Add 25g olive oil and sauté 3 min/120*C/speed 1.
Add the chilli, curry and cumin and cook 2 min/100*C/speed 1.
Purée 10 seconds/speed 8, scrape down sides of bowl.
Add the coconut milk, brown sugar and reserved peanuts, cook for 8 mins/100*C/speed 1.
Check if sauce has thickened. If not, remove MC and cook for a further 2 mins/100*C/speed 1.
Add the lemon juice through the hole in the lid as you cook for a final 1 min/100*C/speed 2.
Serve hot or keep in a jar for later use.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
