Ingredients

Carrot and Cumin Soup

  • 800 grams carrots, cut into 3cm chunks
  • 1 onion, cut iron quarters
  • 3 --- garlic cloves
  • 2 heaped teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons Vegetable stock paste
  • 750 grams water
  • 1/2cup red lentils, rinsed and drained
  • sour cream, to serve

Recipe's preparation

  1. add 800 gms Chopped carrotsBlend"Blend" 3 secs/speed 5
  2. set aside in a seperate bowl
  3. add Onion and Garlic Blend"Blend" 4 seconds/speed 7
  4. add 2 tsps Cumin
  5. 2 tbsp Olive Oil add splash Guard for TM6/simmer basket TM5
    Blend"Blend" 5 mins/ Varoma / speed 1
  6. add grated carrot cook Blend"Blend" 5 mins/Varoma/5 mins
  7. add 4 tbsp of Vegetable stock paste
  8. add 750 mls of water,
  9. 1/2 Cup red lentils , that have been rinsed and drained
    cook Blend"Blend" 25mins/100 degrees/ speed 1 simmer basket on lid
  10. remove simmer basket add mc Blend"Blend" 1 min/ speed 4 slowly increse to speed 9 til smooth and creamy

Tip

Soup can be made thinner or thicker by increasing or decreasing the water value. We like our soups thick so the 750mls works well.
