Rima’s Maryam Mounajed’s ChefItUp’s Lentil Soup

  • 1200 g water
  • 2 level tbsp Stock paste (chicken or vege)
  • 1 portions onion quartered
  • 2 portions carrots quartered
  • 1 portions small potato quartered
  • 1 level tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 level tbsp capsicum paste
  • 1 level teaspoons sweet paprika
  • 1 level teaspoons dried mint
  • 1 level teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 level teaspoons caster sugar
  • 1 Juice of one lime, extra to adjust at the end
  • 1 --- Cup red lentils
  • 1 level tbsp olive oil
  • 1 level tbsp Butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. Add onion, carrot, potato, tomato paste, capsicum paste, olive oil, 5 sec - speed 5 then scrape down sides

    2. sauté for 5mins-varoma-reverse slow speed-Mc off

    3. Add water, stock paste, washed red lentils and spices, salt and pepper to taste, cook30min-100 degrees-speed 2, Mc on.
    4. Taste and adjust salt/pepper to your liking, add butter and lime juice, place lid and Mc then speed 5 then slowly to speed 9. Add extra lime juice to adjust to your liking and salt/pepper if needed.

    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
