Ingredients

  • 250 g Beef mince
  • 250 g lamb mince
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 red chilli
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp tumeric
  • 1/2 bunch fresh coriander
  • 1 onions
  • 5 cm fresh ginger
  • 30 g olive oil

Pastry

  • 5 sheets frozen puff pastry

Recipe's preparation

    Mince Filling
  1. Peel & chop & potatoes into tiny pieces

    Place into the steaming basket with 500g boiling water & steam for 15 mins / varoma / speed 3

    Set aside

    Dry the bowl

    Add the onion, chilli, ginger & fresh coriander leaves & chop for 3 secs / speed 7

    Add the cumin, chilli powder, & tumeric along with the olive oil and saute for 5 mins / 100 deg / speed 1

    Add the meat, seasoning with salt

    Cook for 10 mins / 100 degrees / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" / speed 1

    Scrape down the sides, add the potatoes and cook for a further 5 mins / 100 degrees / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" / speed 1

    Set aside to cool

  2. Assembly
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius

    Allow the sheets of pastry to defrost

    Slice into 3 long strips

    Place the mixture in a triangle shape onto the pastry, fold over & slice

    Bake for at least 15 mins until golden brown

Tip

You can fry these Samoosa's but they are very delicious baked.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
