Place desiccated or fresh coconut in tm jug with the water, cook 7 min 100 degrees speed 4
Carefully turn speed to speed 8 (take 10 -20 secs to reach this speed to prevent splatter) process for 1 minute speed 8, scrape down sides and process again 1 minute speed 8.
Can strain through milk bag or just use as is.

For even more eco friendly use of your fresh coconut crush the shells and use as fuel to BBQ satay (Thanks to Meilda-great tip!)
Easy to make a small amount for the curry you are making. Just do this process after you have made your paste or spice mix. adjust amounts as per what you need.
Does keep in fridge.

My first ever recipe in my new thermie and I love it. I've made my own coconut milk before but this is way easier and I ended up with a much richer, creamier milk.
Hi , how long will this last in fridge ? Other recipes say to freeze or throw after 6 hours so I was just wondering
just done a test run on this with 20 gms coconut and 200 gms water using same cooking time and turned out really good my first time making coconut milk another thing I will make in my thermie from now on

I dont think you need to adjust time for smaller amounts. (how small are we talking?) I think the no heat method works better with fresh coconut. and the heated for dessicated coconut, as it releases more flavour. Ive finally mastered squeezing the milk bag well enough when using fresh coconut, that the remaining contents are dry enough to use as desiccated coconut. You can toast it, make the EDC coconut butter cake!!! Yum!! Happy coconut milk making.

Do you adjust cooking times for more or less amounts?
I do like this heated one as the result is a richer milk. Some people rather processing raw ingredients with out heat, so i just thought id cater for both. Neither take much time so maybe Try both and see which you prefer. Id love your feedback!
