Ingredients
Sweet & Spicy Teriyaki Marinade and sauce
- 20g fresh ginger
- 20g shallots
- 3 garlic cloves
- 100g light soy sauce
- 120g water
- 50g brown sugar
- 50g liquid honey
- 20g sesame oil
- 20g rice vinegar
- 1/2 level teaspoons chilli flake, dried
- 2 level tablespoons cornflour
- 4 level tablespoons water

- 1.Place ginger, garlic and shallots into the mixing bowl and chop 4sec speed 7 Place the MC on top of the lid
2.Scrape the sides of the mixing bowl
3.Add all the other ingredients to the mixing bowl and cook 10min/100degC/speed2 placing the simmering basket on top of the lid instead of MC.
Note. Mix cornflour and water into a paste before adding into the bowl with all other ingredients whem making the sauce but if making as marinade then omitt adding the cornflour paste.
Tip
The marinade/sauce can be used while stil hot/warm added to meat and vegetables of choice to make a delicious stir-fry or can be used as dipping sauce.
For later use pour the marinade/sauce into a bottle/jar/ airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 4 weeks or can be frozen as cubes and can be used over a longer period of time. To use from frozen allow the cubes to defrost at room temperature.
To use it to marinade chicken or meat allow the marinade to cool completely before use.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
