I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

    Dough
  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees celcius.

  2. Add yeast, sugar, oil and warm water to bowl. 30 seconds/speed 2. Let the yeast activate for 10 minutes.

  3. Add plain flour and salt. 5 minutes/Dough mode"Dough mode"

  4. Leave in bowl to proof for 10 minutes or until doubled in size

  5. Rolling
  6. Flour bench space and hands.

  7. Knock out the air, folding the dough in half and repeating at least 3 times.

  8. Portion into 100g peices and then roll into small logs. Pinch the ends a little thinner. Using a sharp floured knife, slice dough down the middle making a dent so cutting the bun is easier once cooked.

  9. Leave in a warm space- warm car, warmed oven or warmed sink with glad wrap over the top until doubled in size.

  10. Place in oven and bake at 180 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden.

  11. Serve with mini frankfrurts, cheese and sauce

Tip

My toddler loves these mini-hot dogs! Great to take to daycare. Party food for kids. Double the dough to 200g and make adult sized hotdog buns!

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

I was worried when preparing the dough as my flour seemed to be very tough and dense. I let these rise for about half an hour and they have just come out of the oven perfect! 150g of dough seems to be the 'normal' hot dog size roll. I also made a small bun which came out lovely. Will definitely be making these again and may also make them as mini dinner rolls! Thanks for the recipe.

Great rolls, I did a couple of mini and then bigger ones at 150g which were the perfect size.

Thank you for your Recipe. I just made them - adult size of 200g - they turned out quite big so will be trying 100g size next time. Very light & fluffy.
