Ingredients

Chocolate self saucing pudding

  • 120 grams brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoons cocoa powder, 70% cocoa
  • 150 grams self-raising flour
  • 160 grams caster sugar
  • 130 grams Milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoons cocoa powder, 70% cocoa
  • 60 grams vegetable oil
  • 500 gram Boiling water

Recipe's preparation

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees and grease a 1.5 litre casserole dish.

    1 - Add 1Tablespoon of cocoa and the brown sugar to the bowl and blitz for 5 seconds at speed 3, then set aside in a bowl.

    This is your topping.

    2 - Without washing the bowl, add caster sugar, self raising flour and remaining cocoa. Blitz for 5 seconds at speed 3.

    3 - Add oil, milk and vanilla and mix on Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" 30 seconds at speed 3.

    4 - Pour into a casserole dish (1.5 litre minimum) and sprinkle with the reserved topping.

    5 - Pour 2 cups boiling water over the back of a spoon over the pudding. Cover and bake for 40 mins at 180 degrees.

    6 - Allow to sit for 5-10 mins befor serving with cream, custard or icecream.

Tip

For an different flavour you could a couple of teaspoons of instant coffee to the water or add a the zest of an orange to the pudding with the juice making up a portion of the water.
