Recipe's preparation

    Quinoa Brittle
  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees. Line a baking tray with Thermomat or baking paper.

  2. Put pecans in bowl and chop 10 seconds/speed 4.

  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix 2 mins/37 degrees/speed 2.

  4. Pour mix out onto tray and spread out into a thin even layer.

  5. Bake for 15 mins, then turn the tray around and bake for another 5-10 until it is a deep golden brown and fragrant. The edges may appear to be getting too brown, but they're just gettine crisp and caramelised.

  6. Leave to cool completely before breaking into bite-size pieces.

Tip

Once completely cooled store in an airtight container for 1 week or in the freezer for 1 month.

For a gluten free option, replace oats with extra chia seeds.

This makes an excellent gift!

    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

So good Smile I used cashews instead of pecans and raw sugar instead of coconut sugar, as I didn't have those ingredients. They turned out amazing. So delicious! Tongue

So delicious! Thank you, superb recipe. It's a great snack to have with you on a day trip or in the car instead of grabbing a chocolate bar or packet of chips from the service station or 7/11.
