Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Add all ingredients to bowl. Blend 1 min, speed 10.

    2. Scrape down sides and lid. Cook 6 mins, 90°, speed 3 until thickened. Sauce will thicken more as it cools.

    3. Transfer to a clean jar and store in fridge.

Serve warm over ice cream or cold as a dipping sauce for fruit.
    Can be re-heated.

Tip

You can substitute 50-80g of unsweetened dark chocolate for the cocoa/cacao powder.

VARIATIONS:

JAFFA: Add zest of half an orange in Step 1. You can also juice the orange and top up the juice with water to 260ml.This will result in a less sweet sauce.

CHOC MINT: Add peppermint essence to taste.

MOCHA: Use 260g of black coffee instead of water, or 1-2 teaspoons of instant coffee powder.

CHOC GINGER: Add 1/2 to 1 tsp ground ginger, or to taste.

I love this sauce! Made for my 2yo birthday party, served with tiny teddies and fruit. It was a big hit with kids and adults. I love the sweetness level, just enough but not sickly and no nasties for the little ones. Also took the leftovers to work and they traveled really well.

This is awesome. I love chocolate orange, this is a perfect flavour, delicious with a fruit platter. I will definitely try the peppermint version too and maybe even a coffee version. Love that it is so natural without all the artificial crap. Will be marked favourite in my recipe collection. Thank you!  tmrc_emoticons.)

Made this tonight - it was very tasty. Loved it because it wasn't so sweet. put in a small 30ml container to be used for cravings in the afternoons. Meant to give this four stars at least  tmrc_emoticons.J)
